Harry C. Smith, 95, of Seminole, FL passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017. Born in Clinton, MA, he attended the University of Alabama where he met his wife, Jackie. He was a WWII veteran. Harry and Jackie married and moved to St. Petersburg in 1946. Harry started his career in broadcasting at WSUN on the original St. Petersburg Pier. Harry C. Smith, 95, of Seminole, FL passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017. Born in Clinton, MA, he attended the University of Alabama where he met his wife, Jackie. He was a WWII veteran. Harry and Jackie married and moved to St. Petersburg in 1946. Harry started his career in broadcasting at WSUN on the original St. Petersburg Pier. He was a radio disc-jockey and later hosted a daytime television show. In 1959 he went to work for WFLA -TV as a television advertising salesman. He enjoyed a long career with WFLA retiring in 1987 as Vice President of Media General Broadcast Group. Harry and Jackie were able to travel all over the world. He loved playing chess, reading, and using his computer and I Pad.

He is survived by his daughter, Shannon (Larry) Krick; grandson, Dr. Michael (Kris) Krick; and 3 great- grandchildren, Jason, Kasey and Meredith as well as nieces and a nephew.
